I would like to answer your questions about the Tomb Sweeping Day in China.

This is a quite old festival, falling in early spring every year, can be traced back to more than 2500 years ago. Therefore, you can say this is a fairly traditional festival in China, and more importantly, it is a day to honor the ancestors, so we are supposed to have one day off from work.

First and foremost, same as most Chinese families, I, together with my parents, would go to the graves to respect my grandfather and the other ancestors. Secondly, sweeping the tombs is a must every year, we would sweep the dirt away, pull the weeds and put bunches of chrysanthemum in front of the tombs. And lastly, quite often as it is spring, our family would go stepping the green to enjoy the early spring scenery.
