     Today is May 5th on the Lunar calendar, the Dragon Boat Festival. Traditionally we will hold a dragon boat race.

The Sixth DaQing Dragon Boat Race was held on the Li Ming Lake at 9:30 am. Sixteen top teams from around the country participated in it.       To start with, the eyes of the dragon boat were painted and the body was cleaned. After that, sixteen boats rushed out like arrows across the lake, competing to e on the bank, thousands of audiences shouted as loudly as they could to cheer them on. As a result, the Hefei Team became the first to reach the final line. Amazingly, The Northeast Petroleum University Team from our city got No.5.     What a splendid race it was! Not only did it enrich the citizens’ cultural life, but also passed down our traditional custom.
