heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women in the United States, but there’s good news: you can take action (行动起来) and reduce the risk of the disease.

The Heart Truth® sponsored National Wear Red day® more than ten years ago. The Heart Truth® is a health campaign. In 2002, the campaign created and introduced the Red Dress® as the national symbol to ask women to protect their hearts and encourage them to take action. People celebrate National Wear Red Day® on the first Friday of February every year. On this day, women are encouraged to wear red. The red dresses remind women to pay more attention to their “ourselves”, as well as their “inner selves”, especially their heart health.

National Wear Red Day® is not a public holiday, so shops, schools and government offices are still open on that day. It is said that women can reduce the risk of developing heart disease by as much as 82 percent just by living a healthy lifestyle.

It’s never too early to take action. The coming National Wear Red Day® will be celebrated on Friday, February 6, 2015. Would you like to join in?
